Our Story
Be Hold started with the belief that your bag is so much MORE...It is a form of creative expression, a witness to our journeys and an enabler of our dreams. It holds our most prized possessions and the items we can not live without. In a world of fast moving fashion where things are quickly disposed of, we wanted to create a constant companion on your journey to new pastures and brighter futures.
As a frequent business traveller, a working mum, and an explorer myself, I needed a bag that could easily transition with me from role to role. I also wanted it to be modern, bold, functional and stylish at the same time.
Having learnt the “lost art” of sewing from my mother and grandmother, I already loved the creative process of being able to bring something I imagined to life. So many special things had been handcrafted and lovingly made for me growing up - like my favourite pleated tennis skirt, gorgeous blinds for my bedroom, a flower-girl dress for my aunt’s wedding. I realised that I already had many of the skills I needed to make what I envisioned but could never find. While living in London, I discovered the London College of Fashion and learnt everything I could about the art of designing and making bags.
And that’s when Be Hold came to life. Beautiful leather, textures and colours are a constant inspiration to me. I created something that was lightweight and easy to wear, without a lot of heavy hardware and where the quality of the materials really speak for themselves. The style is fresh and understated without the need to shout a brand name. Be Hold bags were crafted to transition the modern, minimal women between day to night, work to weekend and beyond.
Be Hold is located on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge they are the Traditional Owners of this country and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
